Athletic Annual Report

Goals & Expectations

There are always time and financial constraints of accomplishing all goals and expectations of a new year, but listed below is the “Wish List” and areas of concern that need to be addressed by the athletic department for the coming school year:
  • Expand future plan of middle school fields to have scoreboard and outdoor bathroom facilities.
  • Install horizontal bars on front of grandstand to prevent climbing between bars.
  • Develop policies and procedures for Athletic Trainer. Continue to expand on equipment and supplies for training facility.
  • Improvements in Boys Lockerroom for security and privacy issues with shower room and bathroom facilities.
  • Try to expand Middle School basketball program in winter to provide more opportunities. Implement a third boys and girls basketball team if space, scheduling and budgeting will allow.
  • Continue to push participation and sportsmanship as main objectives of athletics in grades 7-12. Our participation numbers continue to grow as our athletic program expands and our clubs become more diversified.
  • Continue to honor our teams that have received sportsmanship awards with a “Sportsmanship Banner” to be hung on the gym wall alongside state championship banners.
  • Continue to certify all coaches on staff in Sports First Aid and Coaching Principals through the American Sport Education Program.
  • Continue to serve as the high school state coordinator for Leadership Training courses through the Vermont State Athletic Director’s Association.
  • Continue to serve on Vermont Principals Association committees, Marble Valley League and Berkshire League executive councils.
  • Continue to be a strong advocate of sportsmanship through representation at league, state association and coaching association meetings.
