Gate Receipts

Where does the revenue from the gate receipts at the varsity games go?

All the money collected from the football, boys soccer, girls soccer, wrestling, boys basketball and girls basketball games goes into a “Athletics Gate Account” fund. This helps pay for the game expenses (ticket takers, police, maintenance, officials, scoreclock operators and security). This account also pays for all of the officials for sub-varsity games (JV, Freshman and Middle School) as well as the entry fees for cross country, indoor track, wrestling and spring track. In addition, it pays for league dues for the school’s participation in the Marble Valley League and Vermont Principal’s Association.

For example, in 2005-06, a total of $49,576 was generated at the 47 home games, which were attended by 22,739 patrons. The ticket price at games were $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students and senior citizens.
